I can't believe Thanksgiving is over and we're only 26 days away from Christmas! I have tons of stuff to do and no motivation to do it! It's really hard to get in the Christmas Spirit when it's sunny and 70 degrees. On a positive note, I did manage to get my largest holiday gift project done yesterday and I am really happy with how it turned out!

Well, I'm off to clean the living room & move furniture so we can put the tree up. Yikes!

I know, I know, I haven't posted in quite awhile but I am so excited about this that I had to share! Can you believe that you can attend 22 FREE Scrap Classes/Workshops?! I mean it - absolutely free! I played at the Bad Girls Christmas Workshop last year and it was a blast! And, I got soooo many projects done for the holidays! Just head on over to Bad Girls and sign up to use the message board.

From November 14th through November 23rd, there will be 22 free classes hosted by not only the Bad Girls Design Team, but also several Guest Designers. For anyone that reads this - I'm still here and kicking but have been really busy lately. Just working on some Matchbox Shrines for a swap, trying to finish those up so I can do a Halloween Banner as well as some Dia de los Muertos projects. I want to get so much done before Halloween but these shrines are kickin' my butt...I can't seem to make up my mind on how to make them turn out the best - am doing a Mermaid/beach theme and have 110 ideas on how I could make them so... Plus, my Internet connection has been down lately. Bummer! I really would like to get wireless but am a little intimidated on how to get that going in the cheapest possible way. Anyways, just wanted to update you in case you were wondering why I haven't been posting this month. I'll have to post pictures when I'm done with these projects!

I got a message in a bottle today! Yay!!! It was such a great treat - My sender was extremely generous and I have to admit, I was blown away by all the stuff she was able to fit in a bottle! Look for yourself - all of this was in the bottle above!

Thanks to Lisa Vollrath, I now have the song 'Message in a Bottle' stuck in my head!

It's all good though because I got Lisa's newsletter in my inbox this afternoon and she has a really awesome swap project going on right now ~ 'Message in a Bottle'.

If you're an artsy type of person, you definitely need to check it out! In a nutshell, each participant will receive a bottle in the mail. Inside the bottle will be labels addressed to 2 other people, along with some cool art supplies (i.e. ephemera, charms, or whatever the sender decides to send you.) You, in turn, stuff 2 bottles with goodies, label the bottles with the 2 labels that were in the bottle you received and ship them out.

SheetLoad ShortCuts...... I just wanted to share an awesome little product I bought & recieved a couple of days ago. Before I do, I should say I have no affiliation with this gal (other than being a new customer) and don't know any of her or any of the gals that made samples for her but I am so impressed with her product & awesome customer service, I had to share...Gift Card Holder Folders! And they come in 3 sizes!!!

Here's the story ~ A woman named Alicia saw that alot of paper crafters were making gift card holders. While fairly easy to do, she got tired of the repetitive cutting, scoring & folding so she decided to see how much it would cost to have a custom die made....she ended up finding a company in Kansas that made it for her and, in order to off-set the cost of having the die made, decided to share the end result with other paper crafters... I don't want to infringe on any copy right laws or anything so I'll stop here but you really out to check this out...

Pressure to Perform

I just wanted to comment on feeling the pressure to perform. For some reason, I always seem to flop when I a want to create a specific card, ATC, Scrapbook Layout, etc for someone. It is so frustrating because I have had all weekend to play and I really wanted to do a mail art piece but when I sit down to actually do it, I go blank. Yesterday I worked on a layout - just because I felt like doing one and it turned out really crappy. Normally, I would chalk this up to forcing myself to create but not this time; this time, I want to create cool stuff and I feel creative this weekend but for some reason, my projects are just not turning out cool. So, what do you do when this happens to you?

Wanted: 1 babysitter, a week off work, and some cash!

I just got my August Country Living Magazine today and I was totally sucked in by an article about vacationing in Wyoming. Now, I'm not talking about your 'typical' vacation; this was about 4 days, 3 nights on a wagon train through the Tetons. Fresh air, nature all around, cowboys cooking for me, camping under the stars....Granted this isn't most people's idea of a vacation - I mean, there are no showers, no cell phones, no electricity...there are outhouses along the way though! lol Kids are welcome but personally, I'd rather leave them at home to get the full vacation effect. Another Altered Box & An Off Color Joke

I have always loved cheese but I've really been on a cheese kick lately and have been recycling the cool little wooden round containers that Brie comes in. I altered this the other day using one of those empty Brie containers. I'm not sure what I'm going to use it for yet so for now it's sitting in my curio. I'm so happy that I'm on a creative roll lately. It's been months since I've been able to create things I like alot so I'm really enjoying this and not taking it for granted.

I received the latest issue of Somerset Studio in the mail today and am so impressed by an artist that is featured in the magazine that I had to share! Check this guy's work out - it's amazing!!!

My friend, Cindy is always e-mailing me funny stuff. I really couldn't resist sharing this one. I got a good laugh out of it.

An old lady dies and goes to heaven. She's chatting it up with St. Peter at the Pearly Gates when all of a sudden she hears the most awful, blood curdling screams. "Don't worry about that" says St. Peter, "'It's only someone having the holes put into her shoulder blades for the wings."

The old lady looks a little uncomfortable but carries on with the conversation. Ten minutes later, there are more blood curdling screams. "Oh my God" says the old lady, "now what is happening?"

"Not to worry" says St. Peter, "She's just having her head drilled to fit the halo."

"I can't do this" says the old lady, "I'm going to hell."

"You can't go there" says St. Peter, "You'll be raped and taken advantage of."

"Maybe so" says the old lady, "but I've already got the holes for that."

Yeah - Got my Mojo back!!!

I did manage to do the photo challenge I wrote about on Tuesday's post, although I think I would have done better with it if I weren't so distracted! Long story that still hasn't ended so I won't jinx myself by posting about it but suffice it to say that Tuesday's photos definitely sum up what June 2008 has been all about for me. Please keep your fingers crossed and if you pray, I could really use some prayers about this "mysterious" endeavor. (And I promise I will share the news if it actually comes into fruition.)

And as for my mojo - My muse jumped out of the box along with this awesome Bad Girls Project kit that I received and assembled last weekend. She even decided to make herself at home for a bit and hung out long enough to inspire me to turn a little round Brie box into a really cute little storage container. I love how it turned out and will post a picture of it as soon as my camera batteries re-charge. (Don't you hate when your camera batteries die when you need them!)

So I have been pondering whether or not I should do the monthly challenge at Shimelle - I mean, it goes for a year and stared in April but the more I think about it, the more I think I should. Better late than never and I have been meaning to make it a point to routinely practice my photography anyways...

The only thing is, I haven't been scrapping very much this year. I'm feeling creatively blocked not only with scrapping, but with my art as well. I mean, the ideas are in my head but they never come into fruition the way I think they should. It seems like the harder I try to be creative, the crappier the project turns out. Anyways, enough whining...I guess I should just pick up my camera and start using that as a way to creatively express myself for now. Guess I just made up my mind about that challenge!

On the home front, not much is new. We Bar-B-Que'd with some of the neighbors from our apartments. There were people and/or families from 6 different apartments and beer so it was fun! Some one there said, "It's wierd how we've all lived here for years & years and it took this long for us to talk to each other." It's true - how strange that we all had so much in common and had such a good time and it took us years to finally realize that because we never talked to each other. Anyways, fun was had by all, the kids all got along great, Jimmy has a new "Best" friend, and Kadee landed (hopefully) a baby sitting assignment.

I just finished reading Somerset Studios Artful Blogging (Vol 1) and am totally inspired! This is the type of mag that you can read from front to back, or you can pick and choose what to read and either way works. And it is so easy to put it down for a couple of days and then come back to where you left off and not be lost. It was a great read but I have to say, it wasn't Somerset that made this so inspiring (although I do love Somerset) - it was all the contributions the artists gave that made this issue such a great source of inspiration! If you haven't seen this, you really need to check it out!
